At Home Ovulation Confirmation Test

What is an at-home ovulation confirmation test?

An at-home ovulation confirmation test from myLAB Box can accurately measure your ovulation health, allowing you to be fully informed on the state of your ovulation cycle and ovulation health.

Problems with ovulation can make it more difficult to conceive. When trying to conceive, a couple needs two things: sperm and an egg. Without healthy ovulation, an egg will not be present or have the hormonal support it needs and conception can be more difficult.

In fact, ovulatory disorders are the leading cause of infertility in couples. Tracking PdG (progesterone metabolite) levels days 7-10 after suspected ovulation can confirm that successful ovulation has, in fact, occurred.

Our At Home Ovulation Confirmation Test Kits Include:

  • Five (5) PdG Test Strips – enough for 1 cycle of testing
  • Proov “p” cup
  • Access to fertility hormone tracking app
  • Full product instructions
  • Free One-on-one customer support
  • Invitation to join online fertility support community

How can Proov help?

Proov is the first and only FDA-cleared PdG test for ovulation confirmation. Because Proov is non-invasive and can be used at home, Proov is great for tracking PdG over several days – which is critical in confirming if successful ovulation occurred and there was a chance at conception that cycle.

Proov is the perfect wing-woman to your go-to Ovulation Predictor Kits and Pregnancy Tests, because all three measure a different hormone. Using all three together provides you with the clearest picture on your ovulation each month.

How do I use Proov?

With Proov, confirming successful ovulation from the comfort of your home has never been easier. Here’s how you can Proov in just four steps:

  1. Pee: Collect first morning urine in a clean, dry container.
  2. Dip: Place the strip into the urine sample until you start to see urine coming up the test window (5-10 seconds). Lay flat.
  3. Wait 5: Minutes that is! And your results are in. Positive tests have one line and negative tests have two lines.
  4. Plan: If your tests are positive throughout the test window, you have confirmed successful ovulation that cycle. If all or some of your tests are negative during the test window, it could indicate lack of ovulation or suboptimal ovulation. You now have powerful information to help plan what’s next.

How often do I need to test with Proov?

In one cycle, you will test with Proov five times – conveniently the amount of test strips in a 1-cycle pack! First, you’ll use one Proov test the day after your period ends. We call this a baseline test and it will be negative. Baseline tests are used to show you what a negative test looks like for you (because every woman and cycle is different!) and allows you to decipher between positive and negative results later in your cycle.

Next, you’ll begin testing for peak fertility using the tracking method of your choice – LH tests, cervical mucus monitoring, or BBT, for example. Once you get a peak fertility reading, you’ll count 7 days (day 1 being the day after peak) and test with Proov daily on days 7, 8, 9, and 10 after peak. We like to see four positive tests during this testing window.

Visually tracking your Proov results and PdG levels over several days is simple with the available Proov app (free download available for Android and iOS). Once downloaded, simply input the date of your last period and the app will direct you when to test with Proov. After taking a test, snap a pic and upload it to the app for a visual log and representation of your PdG and other hormone levels over time.

What’s next?

Proov gives you powerful information so that you can plan what’s next. If all of your Proov tests are positive during the testing window, you have confirmed successful ovulation and ovulatory issues likely aren’t preventing you from conceiving. With knowledge that your ovulation is good to go, you can turn to other factors that may be hurting your chances at conception.

However, if all or some of your Proov tests are negative, this could be a sign of suboptimal or lack of ovulation. In this case, we recommend bringing your Proov results to your doctor to discuss treatment options. In some cases, natural remedies can be effective, but some women may need prescription-level medication.

Fertility can be expected to end 5 to 10 years before menopause

FAQ

What is PdG?

PdG is the urine metabolite of progesterone. Progesterone is the hormone produced by the empty follicle (corpus luteum) after an egg has been released. Progesterone prepares the uterus for embryo implantation. Without enough progesterone, implantation can not occur. After circulating through the blood, progesterone is metabolized by the kidneys into PdG, which is expelled from the body in urine and can be detected by the Proov test kit.

What is successful ovulation?

Successful ovulation occurs when an egg has been released and PdG levels remain elevated for long enough to allow for the best possible chance at conception. Suboptimal ovulation, on the other hand, means PdG levels did not remain elevated for a long enough period of time and can make it more difficult to successfully conceive.
